i-scan: Dog Recognition System at IIT Ropar

i-scan is a project designed to implement a unique tagging system for dogs on the campus of IIT Ropar. The system uses face detection technology to recognize and identify dogs on campus. Here’s an overview of how it works:

  • Face Detection: The system leverages advanced computer vision techniques to detect and recognize the faces of dogs around the campus.

  • Tagging System: Each recognized dog is tagged with specific details, allowing for identification and easy retrieval of information about them, such as breed, age, and any other relevant data.

  • Campus-Wide Recognition: The system works across the entire campus, ensuring that dogs are recognized and tracked in various locations.

Conclusion:

This project was both fun and challenging to work on. It combines computer vision with practical applications, making it an innovative way to identify and manage dogs on the IIT Ropar campus. The face detection and tagging system can be expanded in the future for more features, such as tracking health data or interactions with campus services.
